Inspired in Italy

In 2014, we travelled to Italy, this time indulging ourselves in Business Class flight. We spent an exciting month in Tuscany, starting with a week in a gorgeous apartment in Ponte a Serraglio. We explored the villages of Bagni di Lucca and the nearby city of Lucca, relishing the magnificent scenery as well as the delicious food and wine of the region.

Villa San Rocco, in the village of Benabbio, was our address for the next two weeks. While Michael worked hard creating a beautiful guitar in the 16th century workshop, I ventured out in our rented Fiat 500, accompanied by the other wives, to discover more of our surrounds. We even made it to Florence for a day of shopping (on the bus).

After saying our sad farewells, we headed east to Cortona, where we rented an amazing 700 year old villa in the countryside for our last week. We covered a lot of ground in our little car and had some fantastic experiences, visiting the towns of Umbria and Tuscany. All too soon, we were at Rome airport after a lovely last night at a B&B on the rural outskirts of the city. We hope to return to Italy one day but in the meantime, I hope you enjoy re-living the journey with me.
